OPERATION TORCH 14 - 25 september 2007 11-day trip through the Operation Market Garden area Including hotels, meals and day trips (Airfare and drinks not included) $ 2.375,00 (based on double occupancy hotel room) Tour the WWII battlefields of Operation Market Garden and Bastogne together with the Dutch and Belgian people The friendship between the World War II liberators and the Dutch people has stood like a rock since 1944. Many a veteran re-visited his “second home” in Holland. Originating from World War II, the Dutch people have always been, and still are, not only interested in, but grateful towards their liberators - whether they be American, British, Polish or Canadian. They are welcomed with open arms. Out of this old friendship, especially strong within the Operation Market Garden area from Eindhoven to Arnhem, a new group has stood up to organise trips for younger generations in order to continue this precious and very special friendship. A side trip to the famous battle grounds in Bastogne in Belgium is included. The Screaming Eagles of WWII Foundation is planning a new trip for September 2007 in order to celebrate liberation and freedom. Besides American active duty personnel, a special invitation goes to all Airborne veterans of former wars (Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War), their family members, as well as the original liberators of WWII, their family members or children of those who were killed or missing in action during these operations. The areas to be visited cover all of the battleground areas of Operation Market Garden in Holland, highlighting key areas where not only the US 101st Airborne division fought but also the US 82nd Airborne and the British and Polish paratroops. This trip is different from other battle-field tours as it is being organised on a non-profit base and in co-operation with different groups and individuals who have two goals in common: Remembering the sacrifice Keeping the memory alive The cooperating groups and individuals all give their spare time and efforts to make sure these goals are met, building a bridge from World War II into future generations. Make sure we know your personal wishes ahead of time. We will do anything in our power to make them happen. Be quick to register as the group is limited to 30 - 35 participants.
