In August 2005 the little village of Slijk Ewijk celebtrated it's '1150 years of History'.
During WW2 Slijk Ewijk would quickly be nicknamed 'Slicky Wicky' by the Allied soldiers.
The 101st Airborne Division had it's temporary HQ on various location in and outside this
little village, caught between the two rivers: the Neder-Rijn and the Waal, on ' The Island'.
Since we have our HQ in Slijk Ewijk, it was only logical we 'Kicked Off' a Ducks Display !!
